VETSPEC SENIOR
Specifically formulated for the older dog, it provides the extra micronutrients needed to support a long, healthy and active old age. It is formulated by experienced nutritionists with scientifically proven ingredients including probiotics, vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, glucosamine and MOS. The unique formula supplements the dog's normal diet and leads to a happier, healthier and active life in later years.
TECHNICAL FOCUS
Older dogs who are starting to develop stiffness in their joints, particularly first thing after waking up would be an example where feeding a product containing a joint supplement may be of benefit. When a joint is subject to trauma from repeated and/ or excessive use, a range of resulting conditions can occur.
MSM is a bio-available source of sulphur and helps maintain optimum function in connective tissues such as tendons, ligaments and muscles. It promotes fluid dispersion at injury sites via its role in the permeability of cell walls. Sulphur is needed for the production of collagen, which is an important component of cartilage. It is common for insufficient healthy cartilage to be made when joint function is compromised. (MSM is also found in VetSpec Active, VetSpec Joint Mobility and VetSpec Omega-3 Joint Mobility. MSM is not required in VetSpec Complete Dog Foods as the protein base contains a surplus of MSM metabolites.)
